not really, no. I dont think there is any other way than the manual way to migrate from CF5. sorry.

did you get the idea , how to export all settings from CF 5 to CF 8.

As an update here, I havent been able to find anything that would solve my problem and the only option left is to do it all manually on the new server which is a shame . Adobe should come up with some kind of import/export tool for standard versions as well. And I think there are still a lot of CF5 users out there and there should be some tool to migrate your settings from CF5 is you decide to upgrade to CF8 etc…

@Aaron, Thanks for the suggestion. However, that would not be an option as CF 5 box is a produciton box and needs to run as well until everything is migrated.

I have no idea if this would work, but what if you upgraded the CF 5 standard server to CF 8 Developer, and if the settings get properly copied over then you’d just have to make a .CAR file to distribute to where ever you need them…

Honestly, I don’t remember. We’re running a CF5 box, but it’s a standard version and also a production box, so I can’t do anything to it to check for you.

But I dont think CF5 supports CAR files.

Kicking it into non-licensed reverts it to a developer edition. Developer & Enterprise editions are able to use CAR files to import/export.

Thanks Todd. I thought that was the case, just wanted to ask around to make sure. By the way, even if you make your CF server a non-licensed version, how would that help? Sorry if thats a silly question, I am just knackered after a long day.
