Adobe is running a ‘developer week‘ starting from tomorrow ie 24th March, 2008. There will be sessions throughout the week and a total of 20 different sessions covering AIR, Flex, ColdFusion, Dreamweaver and Flash. There are quite a few interesting topics and the ones that are particulary of interest to me are these ones :-
- Introduction to Adobe Blaze DS
- Adobe AIR Local Data Storage Options With Emphasis on Using Embedded SQL Databases
- Flex and Java – Tying the Knot!
- Flex Visual Data & Charting
- AIR Native Drag and Drop
- ColdFusion Powered Rich Applications for the Internet and Desktop
I am sure all the sessions would be informative but I am registered for the ones above and will do my best to attend these.
Thanks Adobe!
I am a bit late in blogging about this as the news is all over the blogospher by now but its Monday morning and I just found this out.
Adobe have released Flex 3.0 and AIR 1.0 . This was a much awaited news as far as I know. The good thing is that they have setup a Adobe Open Source Flex SDK wiki which looks good as well.
And because the SDK is open source, the code can be downloaded via SVN from here.

Thanks to Adobe for all this and I am very excited about working with Flex/AIR and building RIA apps that look and work great at the same time.
As the subject says, January 24th is the date for this event. Although getting to London takes me not more than 30 mins and my schedule for 24th is not very busy as well, so, unless any unforeseen problems, I am going to attend this event.
Does anyone like the new adobe.com ? I think its very heavy on Flash and my first impression was to just browse away to some other page….the flash just has too much going on in it…
Whats more disappointing is that Coldfusion is not on the homepage and not even in the “see all products page” link from homepage. Is it just me ?
The old site was better? Anyone ?
Just read the announcement that Flex Builder 2 would be free for students and faculty.
However, not sure if this is free for students and faculties from outside US as well. Would be quite handy if it is, its a big step forward in promoting Flex.
