Firefox 3 : 8 million downloads in 24 hours

On June 19, 2008, in Browsers, by Anuj Gakhar

Yesterday, 17th June, 2008 was the Firefox Download Day. Firefox had set a goal of 5 million downloads to be able to record this as a Guiness Record.

And according to this, Mozilla’s Firefox 3 release event yesterday was an epic success. The servers logged over 8 million downloads during the 24-hour download day, and Mozilla has declared victory after exceeding its initial goal of 5 million downloads.

I personally love Firefox and use it all the time and out of those 8 million downloads, one of them was mine. 🙂 (every bit helps!) and Firefox 3 does look good. Congratulations to Mozilla!

I’m having trouble viewing coldfusion pages in FF3 (if i switch rendering engine to IE the page renders correctly)

    FF2 worked fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@Steve, what exactly doesnt work for you ?is it the css that breaks ? can you be more specific? I had an issue with FF3 as well which was a CSS issue so I could help you with that if you are having similar issues.

    Hi Anuj,

I’m working in Dreamweaver CS3. When i tell Dreamweaver to preview in Firefox, the FF3 window opens but just shows the html code in the window. If i switch then tell FF to “switch rendering engine” (i have the IE tab extension installed) the page works opens fine.

I have Coldfusion 8 installed locally and before i upgraded to FF3 i had no problems.

    Thanks for you help!!!
    Steve

    Hi Steve,

Not sure whats going on here, really. It sounds more like a problem with the CF instalation than FF3 , to me ?

I’ve made some progress – i’m pretty sure now that i don’t have the testing server defined properly. I’m new to coldfusion. Thanks for your help Anuj.

    Steve
