My first Bungee Jump

On October 4, 2008, in Web Development, by Anuj Gakhar

I went for my first ever Bungee Jump today, I thought I’d post the video here. By the way, it was an absolutely amazing experience. Having a free fall from such a height and then getting pulled back up right when you are about to reach the ground level, WOW!.  I was so nervous, the first time the guy asked me “are you ready?” I instantly said “No!” 🙂

Anyways, Enjoy!

  1. Nice one! How high was the jump? I did one in New Zealand a few years ago on a bridge 43m above a river (the first and smallest AJ Hackett bungy site), and I got dunked into the water up to my waist 🙂

@Justin, I think it was 160ft jump. And a jump over the bridge sounds awesome, must be real fun. I think I have just discovered a new thrill factor and I might do it again. 🙂

  3. I’d love to do another jump too. There is one in New Zealand that is over 140m!

Another thing I did while I was there was the Canyon Swing – it’s a *must* for anyone that visits Queens Town:

I was in Switzerland a few weeks ago and actually got to see some base jumpers take the plunge. My heart was pumping just watching them, waiting for their parachute to open. That’s something that’s a bit too crazy for me though 🙂

140m! wow! that must be fun man!

Base jumping sounds very scary, I am not sure if I would attempt it 🙂 Maybe when I have done a few more jumps, I might have the courage to do more adventurous things.

I was gonna attempt Paragliding when I was in Switzerland once but I was running late for my train so had to drop it 🙁 Next time, maybe.

  5. Haha. Awesome Anuj. If you ever get to New Zealand, the home of bungy jumps, give me a shout I can set you up somewhere to stay. Hope all is well, cheers, Darren

Thanks for sharing this video. I like very much adventure like bungee jumping. If you like doing adventure, try bungee jumping.try bungee jumping into the maw of an active volcano close to Pucon in Chile. Have the best experience leap off the 134 meters high Nevis Highwire Bungy, New Zealand in 8.5 bone-chilling insane helicopter jumperseconds. The Harbour Bridge is another viable option in New Zealand. Plunge 486 feet off the Perrine Bridge it’s mind blowing. Tried it once and it was the most exciting thing I’ve ever done. But now that I’ve done it, I have no desire to do it again. I’d like to keep it as a once in a lifetime experience.

Sweet; I got goosebumps just watching the video. Although I’m mildly afraid of heights, bungee jumping & skydiving are on my bucket list. It looks like such an adrenaline pumper. Thanks for the post—it gave me more motivation. 🙂

Anuj, the first time is always scary! I went my first time about 10 years ago and I have been at least once per year since then. Guess what, it’s still scary but I feel more confident with each jump.

  14. Jim says:

Never had the guts to bungee jump. I surf so I like extreme sports, but not too extreme like bungee jumping. Just looking at your vid scared the life out of me. LOL!

  15. Makita says:

How high up were you, it is a little hard to tell from the video. Also the camera man missed the part where the bungee cords pull you back. Anyway you are braver than me, I just could not do it!
