Passed the Flex 4 ACE Exam

On May 5, 2011, in AIR, Flex, Adobe, by Anuj Gakhar

I am happy to say that I have passed the Flex 4 ACE Exam today. This is something that has been on my list for quite a while but I never really got around doing it. This time, however, I actually booked the exam few days ago to give myself a firm deadline. My score was not very good (only 77%) but I think it’s OK given that I simply walked in to the test without any real preparation.

Here is a breakdown of my score :-

  • Creating a User Interface (UI) – 85%
  • Flex system architecture and design – 80%
  • Programming Flex applications with Actionscript – 91%
  • Interacting with data sources and servers – 37%
  • Using Flex in Adobe AIR – 77%

Not happy at all with the 37% there but there were only a couple of questions in that area and I must have got some of them wrong, from the looks of it. Well, the overall result is passed so that’s alright I guess. The test consists of 59 questions and the passing score is 67%.

    Congratulations!!! Can you please tell what resources did you use to study for the exam? Is there any mock exams that you used to get ready for the exam?

    Thank you.

    @Peter, @Akbar Thanks 🙂

    @Nuwan, To be honest, I did not prepare much at all. I have been working on a Flex 4 Project for about 8-9 months now so I guess that gave me enough information to simply walk in and appear for the test. Although, I did go through the Attest 3 Flex 4 questions, once.

  12. I am truly happy for you and as rightly said you finally achieved your goal without really preparing for it!! And the marks there seems quite good considering that you just walked in!! If it is this easy maybe I should give it a try too!! Have been meaning to do it as well but am just not able to spare the time for preparation!! I am sure that passing this must open up a few new vitas for you and hope you’ll make the best of your achievement!!
